My daughter is 3 weeks old and a small bit of blood just came from her nose. She didn't cry and doesn't seem to have any other symptoms. Is she okay?

Probably yes, but call the doc. The house is just probably dry. This happend to me all the time when I was little. Try and get a humidifier, or put a plant in her room, or a fountain (keep it secure if you have other children who are curious). But call the doctor if you are concerned.

My parents smoked when I was little, this also contributed. We now know not to smoke around little ones.

Probably scratched herself. Make sure you keep her nails clipped short.

My son was 3 wks when I noticed blood coming from his ear. I got worried that something terrible was wrong (I knew of a newborn that was found dead for no apparent reason but had blood coming from her ears.) So I took him straight to th ER as her Dr. was closed and sure enough it was only a scratch. Made me feel like an idiot.

If it gets worse or you really feel something isn't right, better safe than sorry.

My friends Mom adopted a baby girl from China and 2 years later her nose bleed really bad. they took her to the doctor and found out that she was allergic to chocolate and milk. so you might want to find out if there's something that she ate or is allergic to that shes been currently consuming. I would check with the doctor to make sure shes okay. i hope she gets better and that you will discover the problem soon.

Her little nose is probably dry. Rub a very small amount of vaseline inside her nose -- i mean, VERY SMALL - like rub it around your fingers first and then rub your fingers onto a cotton swab and run it inside really quickly. Don't go too far inside either. If you're worried, call your Ped.

You may need a humidifier for your room. My daughter is going through the same thing. The air may be to dry and with the weather changing, it is hard on the sinuses.

My husband says it's nothing worth worrying about. She probably just scratched her hose with her nails. Kids always put things up there. He says to trim her nails and unless it's terribly bloody just let it heal.

yES, SHE SHOULD BE FINE, BUT FOR SAFETY PRECAUTIONS, PLEASE CALL YOUR PEDIATRICIAN. SOMETIMES, NOT ALWAYS, IT MAY BE A FIRST SYMPTOM OF A COLD OR FLU STARTING. I ALWAYS FREAKED OUT WHEN MINE WERE THAT LITTLE TO SO I UNDERSTAND YOUR CONCERN.
