This is the first month that we have been actively trying. I just came off of the pill, but was really dissapointed to get my period this morning. Has anyone been trying for a while with no luck and then tried something new and got pg? Please offer any advice you think might help. We're very excited to become parents. Thanks a bunch!

I was on the pill for 15 years before coming off them to get pregnant. It took 4 months. Your body has to re-group hormonally before you'll conceive.

It's possible to get pregnant within a month, but most doctors will recommend using a condom for the first 3 months or so just to give your body a chance to readjust. Also, getting pregnant right after stopping the pill can make it hard to pinpoint your due date because your ovulation may not happen at the "usual" time. This can be a problem because some tests have to be done at specific stages of pregnancy (like the triple screen), so knowing when you concieved is really helpful.

I quit bc in December 2004, had a "withdrawal bleed" and then... nothing... my son was born in Sept. 2005. Because we couldn't be sure when I'd concieved, a couple of tests got done at the wrong time and came back with abnormal results- I got all kinds of "gloom and doom" from specialists until ONE took into account my bc use and explained how getting pg right away can mess up the accuracy.

Hope this helps!

It really depends on how long you have been on birth control and how fast your metabolism works. The kind of birth control you took also can affect the length of time it takes to become pregnant. If you had the Depo shot, it can take up to two years. However if you were on the pill it could be a lot less. If you have an average metabolism and are actively trying (planning according to your fertile days and with your cycle) I would expect to be pregnant within the year.

It took me 4 months (perchance 3...) My sessions have been incredibly tousled for a month or 2 while i finished taking the pill, so its difficult to paintings out. U'd be superb comming off the pill, and making use of condoms for a pair if months till ur physique settles down. Im now form of 11 weeks, yet would be somewhat extra, purely coz the dates are incredibly difficult to paintings out! sturdy success xxx

It all depends, some people say months to one full year, I can tell you with 100% certainty I got pregnant 9 days after i stopped the pill and I was taking it 100% correctly before I stopped.

Most doctors recommend that you wait three months after stopping the pill to start TTC. This gives your utereus lining time to get thicker to support the embryo. It also helps your chances of not miscarrying.

80% of healthy couples will conceive within one year. If you are anxious you could buy ovulating strips to determine your best days to have intercourse or you could begin taking your basal body tempature daily. Good Luck
