I've been on my period for 8 days now! I don't understand why it's never that long, especially since i'm on the pill. During the time I was taking this months pills, the pack broke and i had to guess which ones to take. I know i took some of the wrong ones cause i felt really crappy on those days. Do you think that my period is so long because i screwed up my pills? Has this happened to anyone before? If so when do you think it will finish?

I actually messed up on my birth control one month and when I finally got my period it lasted two weeks! Everything is probably normal, but you should still see your doctor just to be sure.

You didn't say how old you are nor how long you have had a 'problem'.

There was a time when I thought I was the 'only' person in the world that had that problem! My cycles began when i was 14 years of age and they always lasted 8 to 10 days and very heavy!
(I thought I was dying!--Really!). then about two weeks later, they would return and the pain was unbearbale!( back in those days, iI had no one to talk to! This thing was never discussed-- Really it was 'taboo'! I finaly confided in my 'school nurse'!)...

Had to go to the Doctor! Had a 'hormone imbalance'!

The Dr. tried to put me on the pill and I nearly bled to death!

None of us have the 'same' thing-- i have 5 sisters and we all have different cycles! If my sisters lasted more than 3 days they thought they were dying!

We are all' very mature now' and 3 have gone through menopause! (not me).............

But most of my life I experienced what you are going through! The only 'good news' was : that the 'older' I got, the less duration! But the pain was as severe and 'still' is! I am the one that highly reccomends to any female, regardless of 'age'-- take "Pamprin' during your menstrual cycles-- it really is a 'wonder drug' that can be purchased over the counter!

Seriously, consult a Doctor and get checked out!

You should book to see your doctor.

If you are continuing to take the inactive pills, your period may be continuing because of the lack of hormone.

You can start taking the active hormone pills while waiting for your doctors appointment and see if this helps the bleeding subside.

There are other things that might be occurring to make you bleed like this, though.

Is it possible that you are pregnant? (and miscarrying? or having an ectopic)
Is it possible that you have a vaginal infection (or other injury or illness in that region)

You need to keep taking the pill. It will help your body to regulate all of the hormones. I take the pill because I bleed to much/heavy.

I'd say it would probably be related to your pill mix-up.

but if you're worried, see a doctor, just to be sure
