He has the chance to make Venezuela a great nation. With its oil reserves there is no reason why Venezuelans should not have at least the same standard of living as the USA.
But instead of doing the hard work such as ending corruption and
building better infrastructure he chose the easy way out; Blame the US for your problems, it keeps the peasants quiet and it does not involve pissing off your cronies.
Do not forget it was our wonderful former President Jimmy Carter who certified the corrupt elections that put Chavez in power.

This guy is very dangerous.
When war breaks out with Iran we are going to be fighting a major war in the Middle East and yet were are going to be facing a formidable force from the south.
The scary thing is when he comes to the UN and makes speeches like the one earlier, he creates support in places around the world where the USA is not liked. He wants the USA to be defeated and he is building himself an alliance much like Bush did before Iraq. Not to mention that he is stocking up on military equipment from "Mother Russia".
Very dangerous times we are living in here. Yes Bush has made mistakes but there are some massive forces building against the USA. We need to be united.

It's the water. A case of beer 12 0z (30) costs $7 in VZ. A case of 24 oz bottles of water cost 3 times that.

It would seem the only loser is you. Well you and bush. We wouldn't sell him his F-16 parts and upgrades so he going to sell those F-16's to china and buy Chinese SU-27's and has just concluded an oil deal with china who by the way doesn't bite the hands that feed them like bush seems to do. And because of bush's holier than thou attitude Chavez has just signed a mutual defense treaty with Iran so in case of war Chavez shuts of our main source of oil really smooth dufus! I would say making friends and money is the sign of a mature leader. Our so called leader is spending money faster than we can make it and has an ever dwindling circle of friends the sure signs of an incompetent and immature leader.

I agree he really has some stupid **** to say, but anyone who called Bush "The Devil" cracks me up!!! He has a lot of balls for doing that. Also making sure that he did it in front of the UN is even funnier!!! Oh and then he keeps it going by this guy acts like he owns the world. Bush is definately not our best president when it comes to keeping the peace.
How many countries are against the USA now? Thank you Georgie boy!!

Why ask why? He's an idiot because he is.
But you shouldn't get upset because he came to the US and exercised his right to free speech... a right he denies to his own citizens, but that's another answer to another question.

He talks that way because he believes that anti-American rhetoric (including criticism of Bush) will play well to those whose respect he desires: his citizens, leaders of third-world nations, terrorists, etc.
