Here are two plot summaries from imdb:

Plot Summary 1:
Defence lawyers, Kaffee (maverick) and Galloway (dutiful) are assigned the case of defending two US soldiers, accused of murdering a fellow soldier who was deemed to have 'broken the code'. Kaffee and Galloway soon run into a brick wall (Jessup), who sees himself as a military 'untouchable.' The accused claim they were obeying orders (Jessup's), and that the death was an accident.

Plot Summary 2:
In this dramatic courtroom thriller, Lt. Daniel Kaffee (Tom Cruise), a Navy lawyer who has never seen the inside of the courtroom, defends two stubborn Marines (Wolfgang Bodison and James Marshall) who have been accused of murdering a colleague. He (Cruise) is known as being lazy and had arranged for a plea bargain. Downey's (Marshall) Aunt Ginny appoints Cmdr. Galloway (Demi Moore) to represent him. Also on the legal staff is Lt. Sam Weinberg (Kevin Pollak). The team rounds up many facts and Kaffee is discovering that he is really cut out for trial work. The defense is originally based upon the fact that PFC Santiago, the victim, was given a "CODE RED". Santiago was basically a screw-up. At Gitmo, screw-ups aren't tolerated. Especially by Col. Nathan Jessup (Jack Nicholson). In Cuba, Jessup and two senior officers (J.T. Walsh and Kiefer Sutherland) try to give all the help they can, but Kaffee knows something's fishy. In the conclusion of the film, the fireworks are set off by a confrontation between Jessup and Kaffee.

A Few Good Men Plot

2016-12-29 11:52:22 · answer #2 · answered by deweese 3 · 0 0

Tom Cruise, hotshot Naval lawyer with a history of pleading out cases, gets assigned to defend two Marines accused of killing a fellow Marine. Demi Moore, another Naval lawyer with a zeal for defending the underdog, gets assigned as co-counsel. They investigate and find out that the two Marines were ordered to give the now-dead Marine a "code red," a forbidden practice of Marine-to-Marine attitude adjustment -- the now-dead Marine had problems and was making waves by sending written complaints to higher headquarters, so it was decided some rehabilitation was in order. The poor guy died as a result of this "code red." Kevin Bacon plays the prosecuting attorney, Kiefer Sutherland plays the company lieutenant that gives the order, and Jack Nicholson plays the post commanding officer who started the ball rolling. Tom Cruise realizes he was picked for this assignment so he could plead the Marines out and the whole case could be swept under the rug and decides to try the case. They have a hiccup or four, but in the end they get Jack to admit that he ordered the "code red." As a result, Jack gets relieved of command and is now facing court-martial proceedings. The two Marines are found not guilty of murder and conspiracy to commit murder but are found guilty of conduct unbecoming a United States Marine (which is a crock -- there is no such thing) and are sentenced to dishonorable discharge. Tom Cruise eventually realizes that defending the Marines was the right thing to do and the Marines realize they didn't do right by their fellow Marine who ended up dead. THE END

This guy is a wimp and wants to transfer out of the base in cuba, so his commander issues a code red to his troopmates who proceed to try and scare him, but ends up killing him instead. They go on trial, tom cruise and demi moore are the accused lawyers and try to prove that they did only what they were ordered to do. Needless to say the commander admits during court he ordered the code red, gets arrested and the two accused get kicked out of the marines but don't do jail time.

he was a navy lawyer, a pretty good navy lawyer, had a crisis of confidence, had the help of friends and a beautiful woman, regained his confidence, did the job that needed doing, and very well at that, and came out smelling of roses, pretty much the same format to all tom cruise movies, tho this is one of the few when he does not receive the love of the beautiful woman.
