I have a Louis Vuitton Mini Looping handbag http://louisvuitton.com/web/flash/index.jsp;jsessionid=AAXMZA1YRG5LACRBXUDVAFYKEG4RAUPU?buy=0&langue=en_US and the handle is very dirty is there anything that I can use to clean it. I did go to the LV store and I was told that since it is real leather they will darken up and look dirty that I should probably just replace the handle but the handle is around $90 which is not bad but I rather just try to see first if I can clean it. It has a few pen marks on it too.

dont use hairspray. due to the fact that you cant launder the peice and hairspray will smudge it. (the pen that is)
for hard spots like the pen try the magic eraser by mr clean it works excellent.just rub lightly. you can use it on the entire handle too.

Try a leather cleaner/conditioner. If the leather is discolored from age, it probably won't help, but it will remove the dirt and condition the leather to make it look better.

for pen marks, i have used hair spray to remove the mark. just spray the areas with a little bit of hairspray and use a damp cloth to gently wipe it off.

you can not lighten the leather. the leather oxides & darkens. just get another strap.
