Mine is the mispronunciation of the word dissect as DIE sect. That is just WRONG, yet with so many people consistently mispronouncing it (including medical personnel), I am fearful that it will become acceptable. It just sounds so *hick* to me.

When pronounced and written as TAMALE by Americans ...it is Tamal without the E god damn it !!! Words in Spanish that end in a consonant need an E added before the S to make them plural, that's why
Tamal
becomes
Tamales
when pluralized
...not because the singular form is Tamale ...whoever was the f&^king moron that translated it to English should have a pair of electrodes permanently attached to his testicles !

I work for a hospital with over 200 MDs and have never heard it pronounced any other way so ya probably oughta let that go or it might drive you bonkers! I just hate when people say I seen, though that isn't a mispronunciation. lol.

I laugh when people say "amberlamps" and mean ambulance.
I laugh when people say "sitchiation" and mean situation.
I laugh when people say "sexiality" and mean sexuality.
I laugh when people say "conversate" and mean converse.
It doesnt bother me like the way you feel about Dissect. I just find it funny.

Again, when it's pronounced aGAIN. There's a woman on our local news that always, ALWAYS pronounces it like this, usually several times in one story, and it drives me crazy.

Odor-meter....Odometer
Many others I can't think of right now. It makes all of those people sound ignorant & stupid.

What do you say, "diss-ect"?? I've never heard that before. I always hear "die sect" and i always pronounce it that way.
