SOME are biggoted...some are not.
Just like us Americans. We certainly tolerate biggoted Americans, or Bush wouldn't be in office. With a neo-con in office, biggotry, intolerance, and oppression are all the rage in America, even though diversity IS THE VERY LIFE AND VITALITY of our country. Their false morality is nothing but elitism and self-interest, and has done more harm to the very nature and definition of our country during this administration than any terrorist ever could.
Lack of understanding or respect for other belief systems can bring no good. Even to win our fight in Iraq, we need to understand and respect Iraqi beliefs, or we will never win them over.
Don't be sucked in by the neo-con politics of fear and hate, or the reverse-truths they tell. Political correctness is an obstruction of truth, so I'd hardly blame the liberals for that, when the neo-cons are the undoubted king of "lip service".
Ironic that Richard J accuses liberals of causing us to"revert to the 9th century", when his party wrote and passed the Patriot Act, which greatly diminishes American citizens rights, liberties, freedoms, and protections, undoing so much of what our forefathers worked and fought for. Neo-con politics is nothing but oppression that favors only one elitist group at the expense of all others. Liberals get a bad name for at least CARING about ALL Americans, and TRYING TO DO THE RIGHT THING. Just another neo-con reverse-truth that biggotry and elitism are somehow good and moral. Just biggots trying to validate their biggotry.

I think because the majority in the UK are adherent to the Human Rights Acts, however, I for one, am sick to death of reading of the muslims and how the other religions and people should bend over backwards to accomodate them, sick of it. Whats that saying, "As in Rome" they chose to live in western societies, they should remember they are a minority and therefore take their place as such and shut the eff up... I'm not racist or anything, just sick and tired of them trying to manipulate the rest of the world by their acts of violence, thats not a religion, thats a cult, and a dangerous one

Freedom of speech may be a reason for this, but unfortunately, this does not work both ways. If we said something controversial about a Muslim, we would be inciting religious hatred, yet their opinions are counted under freedom of speech and if we oppose them we are racist. Can't win, it seems the authorities are scared of offending anyone who is not a British citizen, but those who are can just lump it.

don't know, i think it's stupid how if anyone says anything that could be even construed as negative about muslims, the whole world protests and threatens to kill us. but if negative things are said about christians, catholics, or even athiests, people are like, "yeah, that's true, those judgmental jerks." it's kinda hypocritical and by wanting to keep the muslims happy all the freaking time, we support them in controlling us. when are people going to realize that being politically correct is stupid and that terrorists really are trying to destroy the world and make it a huge islamic state.

People do not realize that the radical Muslims are intent on world-domination and that the free world is in deep doo-doo.
We are going to have to give up our political correctness and also give up some of our freedoms if we want to keep the rest of them.

Freedom of Speech. Don't forget that we are bombing some of their countries and killing their civilians which I don't believe is very tolerant? Also weren't the West quite tolerant with Israel's disproportionate response to Lebanon?

Because we are not bigoted people ourselves. It does no one any good to resort to the same tactics that we find appalling in others. It's better to lead by example than by force.

The word "tolerance" is surely imperfect, yet the English language offers no single word that embraces the broad range of skills we need to live together peacefully.
Do you want to live in peace? let them say what they want as long as they respect what you think and what you are

In a Muslim united states of america, in simple terms attempt coaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ & see how 'tolerant' they are. This 'faith of peace' is a shaggy dog tale. the religion has raged conflict against anybody who isn't a Muslim. Peace to them is defined while anybody submits to Allah. maximum human beings in Islamic worldwide places have been compelled to transform to Islam or meet your maker. you know, the religion of peace.. or something. they are hypocrites. Islam isn't in user-friendly terms faith. that's a violent political ideology w/ its own rules & courtroom device. you are able to't be a actual Muslim and not want Sharia. And, you are able to't be a actual American and want Sharia. criminal Muslims who come to the U. S. & want to assimilate, obey the guidelines & settle for the tenets of the U. S. shape are welcome. until eventually then, enable them to whine all they want. Its all propaganda. Islam is dedicated to the abolition of freedom of religion.

Is this the US you are talking about? If so the answer is obvious. Check the Constitution. I believe it's called The Bill of Rights.
