i have a friend i've known many years we used to date long ago but he still wants me ,he still tries to get with me...i doubt if it happens..LOL...but me and him are goooood friends....what do you think....

Are you in a relationship with another guy? Are you happy with the guy you have? If so why do you care ..
If you aren't in a relationship.. what is wrong with the guy that cares for you that you can't think of as more than a FRIEND?
He may just be the best thing that ever happened to you.
He has the undying love for you that don't go away easily.
If you are good friends now it could develope in to more ..
If not don't lead him on.
Tell him you just want to be friends and leave it at that.

Depends on what you mean by gooood friends. If you don't want anything other than a friendship, straight up and tell him. If he can't respect that, your friendship could turn to hen s--t, if your not careful.
