The presenter is always more important than the presentation. The program director is more interested in you remembering the weatherman's face and name than that it rained in Kansas City but was sunny in St. Louis today. A little pride in the presenter's part is a bit of it, but the director and cameraman bring you the view.

Because news room people want to be movie stars. He thinks you are there to see him not the map. He wants to tell you what it means but I feel like you and think he could stand beside it and point with a pointer or something.
