It's been 11 1/2 months since I got my belly pierced. The pierced started to look healed around 6 months but now there's more pus/mucus and I just noticed a bit of blood just within the last week. I washed it and put some saline solution on it and took out the piercing. I don't know if I should put it back or just give up on this belly pierced. What do you think??

I think your best bet is to call the place where you had it pierced and ask them for advice. They are licensed to pierce so they are professional and they will be able to help you better then any of your friends! (well your doctor can help but would probably tell you to take it out)

put it back in, if it is infected and you take it out the infection will be traped under the skin. I have a friend who's navel took 3 years to heal but it did heal.
I don't know what type of aftercare you are using but have you been consistent the whole 11 1/2 months? If not that could be your problem. Have you gone swimming during the healing time? If so that could be your problem. Navel piercings can take up to 3 years to heal completely depending on your lifestyle, genetics, diet, and enviornmental factors. Have you changed the jewelry? It should never be changed until the piercing is fully healed especially to those dangly pieces of jewelry as this puts extra weight on the piercing and can cause irritation.
Go back to your piercer and have them look at it, have this conversation with them, if you can't for any reason email me and I will help you as best I can lynx1313@gmail.com put piercing question in the subject line and try to get a clear photo of the piercing if you are going to email me.

I think it did heal and then got it infected. I hope when you took the pierce out the infection was gone. Otherwise the bacteria will get trapped inside the hole when the hole closes up. Which can happen in 24 hours. If i were you, I'd go back to the place you got it pierced. Or to another place that is reputable and tell them what happened. Atleast give them a call. Good luck!

I also had my belly bottom pierced and it took long time to heel it was just red no blood no nothing but it wouldn't heel completely so i decided to take it off, before i got an infection. I think you should do the same, and then go to a doctor. You might just be allergic to the metal on the ring.

I would deff. not put the ring back in. I would suggest seeking a dr on this one, because you probably need to get some antibiotics into your system for the infection. I have one, and it didn't take mine but at tops probably 2 months to heal up, with no signs of infection. Maybe you could call a dr, or helpline first, to see what the suggest instead of paying big bucks at the drs office. Hope this helps :)

I had the exact same problem, you should try sea salt. Bout half a teaspoon and 8 ounces of luke warm water, every night, after doing that mine healed in about a week. Sea salt takes the infection out of any piercing, I know cause I have 8.

Forget about the belly button piercing. Put neosporin on it and never put it back in. I did this about 10 years ago and had a bad reaction too. I have a nasty scar now and wish I never got it pierced.

I would go back to where you got it pierced and let them look at it. Mine took a long time to heal but there was no blood. Try using Peroxide in the mean time. It may also be the ring you have in. Maybe you are having a reaction to the material in it.

first of all u should have called your piercer long ago....you shouldn't have taken out the piercing because now the pus and blood have nowhere to go...that that could make it worse....but u should be talking to a piercer because....no one here can give u the best answer unless they are a piercer, but even then they could be lying....people would do anything for 10 points....but there are some piercers who answer questions here...maybe they will answer yours.

I'd give up on it. If topical antibiotics don't work, you may need to see a doctor and get some oral meds to heal the infection before it spreads.
