According to wikipedia, Theocracy is a form of government in which the divine power (in the modern monotheisms the one God) governs an earthly human state, either in person (e.g. as incarnation in a human) or, more often, via its religious institutional representative(s) (e.g. church, temple, mosque), either replacing or dominating the organs of civil government as clerical or spiritual representative(s) of god(s).

Not a direct or pure one, but perhaps someday an indirect one. There are still way too many variations on the Christian Right theme for there to be a government officially run by a specific church or faction. What could happen, or maybe is happening, is that the interests of a particular brand of Christianity are being pushed by an elected official who is sympathetic/supportive of their version. As long as the moral judgments of that leader are aligned closely enough with the rest of the Christian sects and it doesn't have somebody else's official name on it, people will sit down for it.

Short version: "The United Christian States of America, brought to you by George W. Bush" says it too loudly. Just do it and don't say it out loud works better.

Yes. But it hasn't moved very far in that direction. Not yet. There are, however, lots of people trying very hard to accomplish just that--people like Pat Robertson and the Christian Identity Movement.

No. Which theology would they pick?

And how, given separation of church and state?

Or are you talking about a different country?
