I agree very much... and I admit I was a contributor to this bashing from the Conservative side against Liberals. I have taken a step back have decided (like you) that we, as Americans, will be fighting a new kind of war soon- against the world. We are the most hated country and this is sad to me, because I think we are such a strong, diverse, beautiful and fantastic country that other countries enjoy spitting on (until they need our help). SO, really, as you said, our enemy should not be eachother- we should be working to try to heal our own issues with eachother.

It isn't really about Republicans and Democrats anymore. It is about supporting this country and protecting it against terrorists or not. The problem IS that the parties are being divided by very big differences in fundamental feelings about what is important. 1/2 are Americans - the other half HATE Americans - I agree it is horrible.

There is no such thing as the United States of America.
That ideal has passed. There is no unity in this country and I fear there never will be again.
The best you can do now is grab a gun and be ready to fight for yourself and your family when the liberals get their way and the sh*t really hits the fan.
EDIT
BTW apparently DEP thinks that in order to bring unity we have to question EVERYTHING our government does. Anything that is anti-United States must be right. You are not thinking for yourself if you agree with ANYTHING the United States believes in.
That's a real free thinker there. I don't WANT to be unified with that kind of stupidity.

There have always been polarizations in this country. They wax and wane over time but sometimes they flare up. Remember the Civil War? It would be nice to have unity but when the heart-felt sides are so diametrically opposed it is impossible. Hopefully this latest one will be short, but don't count on it. Prepare for the worst and hope for the best.

Its trust in the UN, political correctness, defeatist, anti-anything America or anything Bush
The Demoncrap/Defeatacrat Party crying over lost elections who lost respect for their selves and want the rest of the world to share their hate for the USA. The left has surrendered to defeat of America instead of the defeat at the ballot box.
Pure and simple the left has nothing but hate, disrespect, and defeat for their stance on everything.
The left doesn't respect its self or the USA.

Why does it surprise you that there's such cynicism in America today when our elected officials and those in position to defend out rights, rights, freedoms and liberties are guilty of overtly, flagrantly and blatantly limiting our rights, freedoms and liberties and are themselves breaking the same laws they expect us to obey, respect and follow... ? What can you expect when those entrusted with enforcing the laws of the land are breaking them under the guise of protecting our rights, freedoms and liberties...? When those entrusted to protect us our our laws are guilty of breaking the same laws they are entrusted of upholding, it can only breed contempt for the laws... and possibly lead to anarchy!
I hate to admit it but that is what is happening and a few idiotic gullible fools, those fanatical buffoons that spew slogans and nonsensical propaganda are only making it difficult to correct matters by obscuring the facts with b/s and unintelligent grunts of patriotism and nationalism.
What can you really expect when someone assumes the Presidency under questionable circumstances (Florida, then in Ohio)? The same one that is limiting our rights, freedoms and liberties... as guaranteed by the Constitution! READ the Preamble and read the Amendments of the Constitution and see for yourself.

Religious fundamentalism, once the Christian Right declared the GOP the party of God and religion blended with politics compromise went out the window. Religion is about absolutes.

You're right. everyone has suddenly become a foreign relations expert, without picking up a book or visiting these countries.
Everyone is an economist, without knowing how the economy really works. Everyone is a political analyst, because their particular pundit tells them what is right.
Noone thinks for themselves so they create a polarized community. It sucks.

It is the sociopathic conservatives. They want to dish out hate but they cannot take it.Say a word about their filth and they whine hard enough to break your eardrums.
Perfect example.A conservative on this site have 3 or 4 false accounts just to impersonate people, asked right-slanted questions that most people see through, but if I hold up the sexually explicit e-mail he sends me,he whines to yahoo! asap.
Nice, huh? Most conservatives ignore the actual "values" of this christian conservative.
That's the answer. The phony conservatives dish it out hard but cannot take it.The LAST thing they want is a real discussion.
This site is prooving it more every day.
