this is a sequel question to one i asked last night....you think blacks are kept low in society? or all white people are against them or you cant forget about slavery...well i'm half white, half black...i'm accepted nor by blacks nor by whites..so whould i start hating on both?? nope i move on...it's not ard being biracail, i actually love it, i have the best of both cultures but people dont see to get that, they tihnk either you're white, either you're black. why do i have to identify with only one race? why cant i be accepted for who i am? some black people think they the only racism is white hating blacks...well try blacks hating on other blacks or in my case half black....opinions?

Good for you, i think everyone should just be accepted for what they are HUMAN hello. We all have children the same, eat the same, all desire, deserve respect. I think people with biases toward others is because of their own insecurities.

Shlane, I don't believe you for a minute. Biracial people (half black/white) have always had the benefit of the racial war. They can pass as either race. Nowadays, more and more people have open minds about race issues so you shouldn't have too many problems concerning race.
I live in the south and I see so many white grandparents that love and nuture their biracial grandchildren that I am shocked. I see whites and blacks coming together more and more as mates. I see more interaction among all people. Yes there is still racism but it is because many of us are unwilling to deal with racial issues.
Deal wiith your biracialism openly. Acknowledge your white and black heritage. You are a "true American". Stop pitting one against the other and acknowledge the blend. Study American history more thoroughly and you will see why things are the way they are. Wish you luck!

Sometimes we create thoughts and stereotypes because of our own internal conflicts. In this question you say that blacks nor do whites fully accept you, but then you make a statement like "why do i have to identify with only one race? why cant i be accepted for who i am? some black people think they the only racism is white hating blacks...well try blacks hating on other blacks or in my case half black....opinions"
Well from many posts here (in yahoo answers) a lot of whites feel they are discriminated against also. You say you identify with both sides, but you didn't reverse your satement in regards to the discimination against your white side. you even stated you don't look black or white, you look hispanic. Why don't you look mixed???? That's what you are. A mixture of both and that's what you look like, not hispanic. SAy you look like a mixture. I don't think you accept fully who YOU are. Because if you truly did you would identify with both sides equally and not put the burden of pointing the finger to your black side, instead of both. I mean you even created a new question dumping on the knowledge of your black side again. I think you need to fight your own internal demons before you can truly have an equal view. YOU have to ACCEPT both sides of yourself and not just SAY you do.
ADDITIONAL COMMENT: I read exactly what you said and what you put out there. Our subconscious says a lot about our internal feelings. Your subconscious isn't showing your love of both parts of you. I know I see it. No one is perfect and no one is 100% sure of themselves all the time. By pretending that you are, you are doing more harm to yourself then you think you are. I know that sometimes my subconscious tells me something different then what I WANT to think, but it sometimes takes another person to point it out and it takes patience to overcome. There's no reason to be defensive about it. If you were a truly conscious person you would take the suggestion as an opportunity to look at yourself and not an opportunity to rant and rave more without seeing any validity in another persons words.

I go through the same thing. I can sympathize with you. But you have to be the bigger person. Who cares. GOD has already accepted you so don't worry about everyone else. You say it does not bother you. But, if it did not bother you, you would not have came with it like that. Love yourself girl, and everyone one else will be jealous and envious of your personality. They will always hate on you. Get used to it. People will hate you when you are down, people will hate you when you are up. Our black people have it bad with hating on someone of the same race. We can never be happy for each other. But always wanting what the next person has. Blacks will never get over that hump. Never wanting to help anyone. And only out for themselves. That is how majority black folks get down. Love or leave it. It will never change until GOD changes it. Much love.

This is sad You should be proud of every part of you. I have plenty of friends who are mixed. If you be yourself people will like you unless your personality just sucks. Most of my mixed friends consider themselves black mainly because when it was time for their white grandparents to have friends over they were hid like awful secrets so they chose the side that was most proud of them, in most of their cases the black side. I think blacks accept everyone most of us do anyway, mainly because most of our families are made of a mix of completely differnt looking people! I am dark, I have dark hair and dark eyes, My cousin is very fair skinned almost the color of an elbino with strawberry blond hair and green eyes, we are first cousins, this is a constant in our family. I feel like this helps us get over physical characteristics as long as you know who you are we are cool!!
