Always more than what you can afford! I would say 15,000 is probably accurate, provided there are no complications during labor and delivery.

Well lets see. Do you have insurance? If so what is the co-payment? Now keep in mind. There is a co-payment for the doctor delivering the baby, the anesthesiologist, the pediatrician who has to see the baby and then there is the hospital fee. You have to consider baby needs, while you tend to get what you need from a baby shower, there are a few things you still might not get. So lets say that you don't get the basics stuff. There is car seat (avg about 150.00), stroller (avg about 130) crib (avg 230) now on a crib you should never use a hand me down crib you know nothing about. There are so many safety guidelines that change over the years. Will the child be breastfeed? If not then formula for a month is about 200.00 per month for 12 months. After 12 months doctors usually recommend whole milk. Then there is the endless supply of diapers till they are potty train (around the age of 2-3). Newborns tend to go through many diapers. Then there the cost of clothes and blankets. Babies grow very quickly. Not to mention the cost of regular ped's visit for well care check ups. All in all you are looking around the lines of 10-15000. If the child has any complications then the price does go up.

The costs vary considerably from family to family, so there's no way to give a blanket estimate of how much a new baby will cost you.

Here are some things to consider:
1. Birth: A homebirth will cost the least--often $1500 - 2000 including prenatal care. An unmedicated hospital birth is next on the list. A medicated hospital birth (what I had) costs the next and it varies with insurance. My out-of-pocket cost for prenatal care and a medicated hospital birth was approximately $2400. A C-section birth will cost the most sometimes $16,000 excluding prenatal care and other extras. Of course your costs for birth will vary depending on insurance coverage.

2. Living Expenses: If you will be taking paternity leave or your partner will be taking maternity leave it will most likely be unpaid leave, this means you have to tally up your living expenses for the missed income, unless of course one of you stays home permanently. So consider your blanket three months worth of living expenses.

3. Feeding the Baby: Breastfeeding provides optimal nutrition for babies is recommended by leading health organizations world-wide including the CSP, AAP and WHO who all recommend children be breastfed exclusively for six months. Breastfeeding is, of course, free and though your partner may want to purchase a pump, nursing bras, nursing pads and some lansinoh the cost is nothing compared to the cost of infant formula which can cost up to $3000 for a full year depending on what kind of formula is needed and purchased.

4. Diapering: We use elimination communication (where you take you baby to the potty) and cloth diapers and we've spent less than $150 on supplies. Straight cloth diapering is a more expensive than elimination communication, and using disposable diapers can cost $80 - $150 per month.

5. All the Junk: You'll be surprised at how little you may actually need when it comes to baby stuff, and how much of the stuff is optional. A few onesies, a baby sling, some booties and a few hats is all you really need. Your baby doesn't need a whole bunch of toys, gadgets or other things. You'll also get a ton from a baby shower.

Depending on insurance / hospital assistance - the hospital bill can very greatly. I know some hospitals offer patients 35%-100% off bill depending on income if you don't have insurance. I would estimate $3000-6000 on a vaginal delivery with minimal stay a longer stay / non vaginal delivery / health concerns - $10000 to $15000 on hospital alone.

The next thing, bottle of breastfeeding. Breastfeeding will save money.

An average baby's health problems added in...

I would say the first three months excluding the hospital bill adding in clothes, crib, - starting from nothing - $3000.

I don't know about hospital fees because I don't know where you live but I do know my insurance payed 190.00 for my three day stay in the hospital. as for any other exspenses medicare covered it.
I'd say a newborn would go through anywhere between 1-1 1/2 cases of milk a month which I payed about 30.00 a case.
about 2 large packs of diapers for the first month. I payed almost 20.00 a pack.
crib about $150-$200.
carseat $80.00-$100.00
clothing for first month about 60.00 - $100.00
baby grows out of clothes very fast.
swing $ 60.00
baby bath tub about 30.00
soaps for bath and clothes $25.00
I'm sure I am forgeting some thing but this is what i paid.

That depends on where you live, what type of birth , who your doctor is, how you plan to feed baby, etc. I just had my second baby 4 months ago Via C-Section and the medical (hospital) $16,000.00 , Diapers a week $20.00, Wipes $5.00 a week, Clothes I already had clothes from my first so I got off cheap but I still drop about $200 a month on clothes. I like to shop. Any way you look at it babies are expensive.

my newborn is now 3 months old. it extremely is rather costly. in case you're no longer on WIC (women folk infants and babies) it's going to be a intense fee for formula in case you do no longer breastfeed. formula runs approximately 87 funds without tax for under 5 cans. it is for enfamil. We pay approximately $14 consistent with can. diapers on the different hand it actual relies upon on what form. Hughie's are much extra costly they're going to run you approximately 30 a month. if no longer somewhat extra. We purchase the mummy and dad selection the place we are able to get a fee %. for 10 dollars. So it quite helps. You bypass by maximum of diapers it extremely is purely much less stressful to purchase the cheep stuff. Toys you will get a selection of of from pals and kinfolk. do no longer hassle approximately to many toys interior the 1st few months. I actually have a swing bouncy seat and a boppy workout mat. they are the wonderful toys that i could desire to ever ask for. the fee would not quite replace. They use much less diapers however the diapers get extra costly. impressive now my hubby at present works mutually as i'm abode with 5 little ones. 6 4 3 2 and 3 months. one in diapers one in pull ups. we make it artwork out purely effective.

A lot. Depends on if you have insurance and if their are any problems with the labor, delivery, mom, or baby. The baby will need a lot of diapers, formula, wipes, clothes, blankets, and most of all love and attention. Focus on the baby and not the cost and you will feel a lot better. Have fun.

You know the adage if you have to askedthe price, you can't afford it.
I don't know what your hospital charges a day, including doctor and all the little things baby needs. At least $3000 to $ 5000.
