.... so is anyone looking at Sammy Sosa weird when he speaks Spanish? or Celia Cruz when she sung?.... like believe it or not they are Afro-Latinos out there who are Latino through and through. If you are basing wearing that shirt on others peoples perception of what Latino is and what Latino looks like you are doing yourself a disservice. You are 1/2 Mexican which in all respects still makes you Latina.

wear the dang shirt already.

~1/2 Afro latina -1/2 european mutt

It's really no ones' business what you wear - on your shirt or otherwise. So many people have mixed ethnicities, all I would think if I saw an Afro-American woman wearing a shirt that says "Latina" is that there's probably some latino blood in there somewhere - then just go on about my business.

You know, I used to be like you (seem to be). I worried so much about what people think. I finally learned that people are just going to think what they think - and I don't really have to concern myself with it. After doing my part of just treating other people with respect and courtesy, what they think about me is their own business.

Wear your shirt - you are not under any obligation to explain what is no one elses business anyway.

I have the same problem. I love Italian premier leauge soccer and get mean looks when I wear jerseys w/ the Italian flag on it. Also w/ the tense Black / Mexican climate in my neighborhood I don't wear my Mexico WC06 home jersey outdoors. Mainly because i'm 1/2 Mexican, and I don't speak spanish like my siblings who were raised by my biological father. You should wear whatever you want, but be prepared to face criticism from those who only judge from superficial standards.

I wouldn't look at you funny. (I'm caucasian.) But I would probably look and wonder whether you were Puerto Rican.

Just an observation... if you are wearing a piece of clothing that says something (whether it's "Latina" or "My mom went to Las Vegas and all I got was this lousy t-shirt."), you are inviting comment--whether you mean to or not. If you don't want to have to explain yourself, I wouldn't wear it. But you are you and I am not you, so wear what you want.

Nope. I was just going to say that you can't tell by looking at a person what his/her origins are.
There are plenty of Latino/Latinas who are very dark skinned and it is impossible to tell where they come from.
Wear your "Latina" shirt in good health!
Peace!

Who cares, if you like it, who cares who is offended. It is not like your saying something racist to offend others. You are Latina, at least 1/2 girl go for it. You should not feel the need to explain your self to anyone.

properly i would not say the two is offensive, yet the two sound like rubbish t-shirts. If something i think of hers is greater offensive via fact it says she is a gold digger at the same time as the 'date beautiful -do not marry in any respect' purely says you do in comparison to marriage. i'm not sure what's offensive to women folk individuals approximately that. for this reason i don't think of that could be a double elementary via fact i'm unable to think of the two incredibly offending all people that plenty. yet i understand what you recommend. as an occasion women can positioned on those 'boys are stupid throw rocks at them t-shirts'. As for why is there a distinction, i think of it is in all risk via fact women individuals have been the undertaking to alot of sexism many years in the past, making human beings frightened of being sexist against women individuals. yet considering the fact that adult males weren't as opressed all those years in the past, sexism against adult males isn't taken as heavily. for sure it is easily pointless via fact that is not purely like the adult males alive today are someway responsible for the sexism so some time past.
