That would have to be a microphone, since none of the others receives sound as an input. If you hadn't given choices, I'd have said that it was a piezoelectric device.

The answer they are looking for is "a microphone," but the question is in error. A microphone does not actually convert sound energy into electric energy. A microphone merely produces an electric signal that matches the fluctuations in air pressure produced by sound waves.
Only a piezoelectric device can actually convert sound energy directly into electric energy.

A mic will do it quite well, a loudspeaker can do it but not as efficiently as it's really designed to work the other way round. If you really shouted into a car horn you _might_ get a very small electrical signal out but its not designed for that at all, it's basically a buzzer. AC generator? I really doubt it.

sound potential is saved in vibrations interior the air. To seize this potential you may want something skinny which might vibrate while on the brink of the sound. Then connect easy magnets(close to the middle) on your skinny substance and encompass it with the aid of a coil of twine. The vibrations ought to reason an AC contemporary interior the twine. i do no longer understand how sensible this may well be, i think of wind/image voltaic is a greater effective determination.
