yes there is a search for important questions such as whether God exists, what is the nature of reality, whether knowledge is possible, and what makes actions right or wrong. most of the people simply don't understand philosophy because there are more deeper questions than half glass full/ half glass empty. The only way to learn more is to read books by Kant, Nietzsche, Sartre, Rand and many more.....

Thats my humble opinion

Yes,
But you have to read!
That is philosophy all about!
Philosophy is the process of growing through the intellect.
Half Full, half empty it is just a question that became a slogan, like it is some kind of advertising.
Read and then find people to discuss,
you will be amazed!

Sure there are a lot more things in Philosophy, just like there is a lot more in music than "Twinkle twinkle little star".
By the way it doesn´t matter if the glass is half full or half empty as long as it doesn't satisfy my thirst.
