when is it the best time to go to Punta Cana?

We plane to go to Punta Cana over Easter week-end and I like to know how is the weather there at that time of the year.

I went to Punta Cana April 30, 2006. The weather was not real hot at first but some mornings it got very hot out when I went walking early. Afternoons warmed up nicely. Have you checked traveladvisor.com, very good and helpful information on hotels, etc?
