i think that philip seymore huffman proved that he is the best character actor ever. proof is his for major role and he won all those awards.

He is great........His portfolio is awesome. I think he can play almost any part he wanted. I loved his work in Boogie Nights. He was great in Almost Famous. And the Big Lebowski...small part, but great acting.

I agree, he is truly talented. And yet underrated! Another actor I think is underrated is Don Chedal. I don't know if i spelled his last name correctly, but he is also a great actor. I don't understand why these great actors get way less attention then say insane Tom Cruise. Our society focuses on looks and appeal rather than talent and it sucks.

You happened to mention an actor I greatly admire. In the case of Philip Seymour Hoffman, I will see just about any movie he is in - knowing that there will be at least one wonderful performance. See him in "Flawless" if you haven't already.

PSH is the absolute bomb, his portrayals have gone unnoticed for far too long. William H. Macy and surprisingly enough Ryan Gosseling are heavy weights when it comes to character actors.
