I have a 2000 cavilier and I heard a cracking from under the hood, so I lifted the hood and noticed there was a spark going from wires one and four. What could cause this and how do I fix it? Thanks

Your plug wiers are junk they are dry roted. This happens regurarly to all vehicles. what u need to do is get a new set of plug wires and install them. no big deal the just pull off and push on. do it one at a time so they dont get mixed up because this will cause your car not to run right. a nother thing to do is a tune up. If your wires are bad chances are so are the spark plugs. if your unshure your local garage can do this for u at a decent cost. hope this informed u.

Spark plug wires are worn, replace the spark plug wires would be a good start.

your wires could have a break in them, causing them to spark.something like that just happens over a period, from the heat.i think you need a new set of wires.

Do not continue to drive - risk of engine fire is real.
