There are times when I work very hard, and others when there is nothing to do. For myself, the hardest part is trying to appear busy when there is absoultly nothing to do, except stand there.

I work as a bell captain, so when it gets busy, I have opportunities to get paid for my hard work in the form of tips. When it is slow, I make a little over the minimum wage so I am not rewarded extra for the slow time.

Often times, I deal with luggage that tips are already paid for tour groups. The tips are usually $3.00 a person not for baggage. Often the bags are many and heavy. There are times when I feel that I am not paid enough for doing these types of groups because they are carrying way too much weight in too many bags for a measly $3.00. When this happens I often wish that they would carry their own bags down and keep the money themselves.

I see others at work...and can imagine myself doing some of the jobs I observe others doing. Like dealers in a Casino. I think that they just stand by the tables when there is nobody at their tables. Doing nothing.

Often I wonder if they would want me to play cards at the table or be left alone. I asked a dealer that question, and she said that she would rather have customers than just stand by herself.

I was playing Pai-Gow Poker, I placed a $.50 bet for her on my bonus, and ended up with a straight flush, she ended up with $25 dollars and said if I had not played she would not have the opportunity to have gotten that nice tip.

Doing nothing is the hardest work, getting paid minimumally for your work is the next hardest work to do....agree?

Too hard sometimes. Cleaning up after a bunch of spoiled kids is hard work. Try working a basketball game. Cleaning up pop spills, cheese spills, puke, popcorn and finding dirty diapers, toys, crayons and other things is not my idea of a good time. The upside, finding money. I don't know how many times I have enough money to buy a snack from the snack machine.
