I am 33 weeks pregnant. My c-section has been scheduled for about 2 months now, the doctors office took care of it. They usually schedule 1 week before your due date--Mine is scheduled for Halloween!!!!

My doctor scheduled mine but I picked the day it was going to happen. She said anytime after 29 weeks. I am having him Tuesday at 5pm! (try for a early AM appointment because I wont be able to eat after 8am) My plan is to stay up all night monday night and sleep all day tuesday, I cant go very long without eating unless I am asleep. But anyways, just ask your doctor! Congrats by the way. This will be nice cause if you dont want to have your baby on halloween, you dont have to! I also had a emergency C Section with my first (born July 9 2004). Feel free to IM me or email me if you have more questions! mnotman82@yahoo.com

I have not had a c-section, but my sister-in-law had 4. 2 were emergency sections and the last 2 were planned. The 2 that were planned, she, her husband (my brother) and their doctor made the decision together. The doctor gave them several dates to choose from based on his schedule to be able to do the c-section and the expected date of birth of the baby. They were able to choose from those dates. Your doctor's office will handle all the scheduling.

Your doc will make the "best" decision for you and your baby (usually at the 1 week prior to due date), but you can make suggestions. For example: My mom and dad are going out of town the week before my due date (the exact date doc wnated to do the c section). I told him the circumstances and he up'd it by a week so my parents will have some bonding time before they leave. My best friend asked her doc to schedule hers for a wednesday (her husband is off work wed-thurs) and he did! So my suggestion talk to doc if you have circumstances like these, but otherwise, doc will do what's in the best for you and baby.
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!

Schedule it for a Tuesday. That's often the slowest day in a hospital, plus it'll keep away any unwanted visitors from appearing your recovery room door because no one wants to trek out to the hospital in the middle of the week.
But rather, discuss a VBAC with your doctor.

Talk to your doctor about when you can have one or when he wants to do it. If he tells you anytime after a certain date, then pick a date that you like and go for it. Just talk to him and between the two of you, you can decide what date you like.

Talk to your doctor and let them schedule it for the right time.

I'd say probably about the 24th. Your doctor will talk with you about when you schedule it. Congratulations!

Your Dr. will let you know whet it's time to schedule it, and he'll probably make all the arrangements with the hospital.
