Just wear stuff that suites your personality and uniqueness. They say "you are what you wear" because for people who don't know you they kind of get a general idea of you by what you are wearing. For example, if you all dressed in bright colorful colors, they could probably tell you are very cheery and upbeat.

Hi. I just read the same article. I have always been interested in fashion. I can honestly say that I do think clothes say allot about the person but I think that is because I am interested in ALL fashion. As far as to get you where you are going in the business aspect I can't say I agree. Most of my higher ups could care less about fashion or apperance in general. I think it depends solely where you work. The reason I like dressing well is because it make me feel better about myself. I do not follow trends...if I see something I like I wear it simple as that. Hope this gives you a little insight.

Yes.
People will follow the leader.
It always amazes me how on the Today Show (the Couric version) fashion mavens would show up every few months to tell the watching public what they MUST have in their wardrobe for the coming season. "Animal prints are very hot. Stripes are very today. Everyone is looking for the perfect pair of red shoes", etc. One season later, it all changes. "Initials on your purse, Glam black and white is required, Animal prints are out, stripes are so yesterday", etc.
It always amazes me that there is a demographic that will adhere to these arbitrary rules designed to do nothing more than promote purchasing and create a silent society of those "in the know:"...

No, we're not all like that. We should wear colors that look good on us, of course. But, we should be able to wear an outfit that we like, no matter what others think.
