Use Vaseline, cover with a shower cap and leave on for an hour or two. Use DAWN to wash it out. Condition with something containing coconut oil.
Sometimes leaving the conditioner in may make combing the nits out easier. That is the worse part. They say vinegar works too but it is so smelly.
If you have tried everything then go to the Doctor or clinic for a prescription...sometimes only that will work.
Use hair spray every day to keep lice away once you get rid of it.
Just a slight mist will work.

Put lard or Crisco on overnight (covering the head with a scarf) and then washing thoroughly with a good shampoo a couple of
times the next morning. It worked on me as a child when we lived on the farm and were exposed to a lot of such critters.

It's almost impossable to get rid of it all. The only thing I can think of is chaving your head, or using Vaseline. Vaseline kills everything, but it takes almost a week for it to all come out. It's really hard to get them all out, and basically once you've got one, you've got 'em all.

All the suggestions are great, but the most important thing is (I heard this from a lice expert on the news) to buy a nit comb and be dillegent.

If you use the product properly, Nix will get rid of lice and eggs. If you have thick hair, prepare for it to take a few hours.
