As long as it falls within a 24-32 day cycle it's considered normal. Sometimes the stress of trying to conceive will delay your period. My first month trying to conceive my period came a day late and last month it came early and ended early. But, you are not irregular until it falls outside the 24-32 day time frame.

If your cycle is always different and sometimes 28 days, sometimes 31 days, or even 35 days, yes, that is considered irregular. A regular period would be the same amount of days in your cycle each month and easy to determine when exactly you will get it. You should keep track of your cycle days when you are TTC, so take the average over the past few months and then determine where the longest amount of days were. I'd say past that time is considered late for you.
I am currently TTC and my cycles are mostly 31 days, but sometimes 32 and the past month it was 34 days. This month I am already on day 33, but waiting to see if I'm going to get my period in the next day or so. If I don't have it by friday, then I'm going to get a preg test and see how it turns out.
Good luck with everything.

Not every woman has perfect 28 day cycles, in fact very few do. Normal is anywhere from 26 to 35 days. Chart for a few months and determine the average of how far apart your periods are.

anything past the day you expect it is considered late. being late a day or two could just mean a cycle shift though. see your doctor if this happens several months in a row
