I have xp professional on my pentiumIV desktop and tried to install the Microsoft Service Pack2, it was downloaded succesfully, when I tried to install it a notice comes that says "the expected version of the product was not found in your system". I have the version in spanish so I downloaded the recommended "Office xp multilingual service pack" and still I get the same message. I rebooted and tried to download again the Service Pack2 but immediately the same message pops up "the expected version of the product was not found in your system". Any suggestions to be able to install the Service Pack2 would be greatly appreciated.

Please use the option "Order the CD" provided by Microsoft and specify the Service Pack you need. Downloads, apart from taking some time, can prove unreliable. The fee is nominal and worth it. With a CD, you can repair when needed later on.

Do you have Service Pack 1 installed? It might be looking for that first.

Get the cd, I did and you can use it as many times, as you need too. Also, pass it around to friends, and family..good luck..click it>>
