Bring your daughter up in a loving enviroment. Build up her self-esteem and confidence in her self. In this way she will not seek to have the approval of those outside her loving world. Help her to be successful in all that she does. Kids can be cruel because they learn this from their parents. It is unavoidable.
My husband's sister married a successful black man. He is highly educated an prominent in his company. He provides exceedingly well for his family and devotes himself to them. She has had difficulty with those within her community due to bias. However, as she said , Success is always good revenge. Protect your family and don't worry so much about the bias. There isn't anyway to change it. If people will judge on such a superficial text then you are better off without them in your lives.

I have been in a serious relationship with a wonderful black woman for two years and in that time what I have noticed is that her African-american friends and her family seem to be much more accepting of me than my family and friends have been of her.
I have never had any real problems publicly, maybe a few stares here and there, but no real confrontations. Maybe I have been lucky, I don't know.
Congratulations on your new baby.

I am white and my hubby is puerto rican and when we first got married I tried to look for an apartment with his last name cause it was mine also and everyone I called said it was already rented so I called with my maiden name and what do you know they had some available. I think interracial couples make beautiful babies I have 3. Don't worry what other people think.

I've learned to look over these people that don't understand. You have to realize that you are living to make yourself happy not everyone else. Your child will also draw a lot of attention but just tell her when you see someone looking at her "They have never seen such a beautiful child" and keep walking. Someone once told me People love to see you mad and hate to see you happy so just do what you want to do with your life and the hell with everyone else. Congratulations on you baby girl and Good Luck
