What is the best way to get to Dominica in West Indies from California? Which flight route should I take and do you know how much does it cost? Also do i need to get a Visa to go there?

Your question is unclear. Are you talking about the Dominican Republic (since you posted your "Q" in the Dominican Republic heading) or are you talking about the Caribbean island of Dominica? I don't think it is even possible to fly directly from the US to Dominica- you'd either have to go via ship (cruise like I have done or charter a ship) or take a "puddle hopper" from one of the other islands. Dominican Republic has lots of direct charter flights from various cities in the US. Passport works best for both places. Are you an American citizen or a "legal" alien on a work visa here or what? I'd say if you were an American without a passport I believe you can get into either island country with your birth certificate and picture id (ie license or state id card); but I'd still suggest getting the passport to make things easier and worth the $100 or so). Otherwise, maybe these links will be more helpful.
