A similar question has been answered before recently. If all answers are all too serious, the fun of this site will be gone. I think you can still find several serious and accurate answers among the few funny ones. Even the seriously ill patients in hospitals need some lightheartedness from the medical personnel and visitors as part of the healing process. Afterall, all work and no play makes somebody dull.

"When Avataars come they choose the time and place, clan and family, and they decide and bring the comrades and co-workers. Man is very eager to get happiness and when there is a prospect, he jumps at the idea, but is soon tired of the effort. He seeks short cuts and aspires for much fruit in return for little cultivation. But, rigorous discipline and steady faith are absolute necessities for success in spirituality. Mere listening or even delivering discourses will not do. To have discipline, man has to control the senses which drag the mind towards pleasurable attractions of the external world; to have steady faith, one must control the wayward mind that paints attractive pictures in false colours."
"God's ears are always on the alert to the cry of His children. When the anguish of a devotee's heart is expressed as a cry or a groan or a sigh, the Lord is as far as that sound can reach; He rushes to the rescue."

Actually I usually give the right answer or my best opinion. Sometimes, though, I cannot help being sarcastic when people ask question such as have you ever read....when the books has been out for many, many years. Question should have been asked as 'What did you think of this book?' Then I would have given a straight answer. When the question is inane or misspelled such as 'I am wroteing a book, what do I need to do?' Then I reply that they should stay in school until they learn how to spell and learn how to formulate a simple sentence. Does that answer your question?

I think there is a variety of reasons why we might want to give the wrong answer. 1 I may think the question is foolish and there do not take it seriously. 2. A funny response might pop into my head and the need for a laugh may out weigh the need to give a serious response. 3. Maybe i don't like the person who asked the question and may delight in frustrating them. 4. Maybe we feel superior when we see others suffer. 5. Perhaps we lack the knowledge to create computer viruses.

As a Cat, I give different answers than would my human, but both answers are true. The trick for us all is to see life from a new perspective. Everything is relative. You can't have one opposite exisiting alone. I suppose if Yahoo Answerers keep screwing around needlessly, they might eventually stumble onto something good, even if they are not aware. Sometimes, humans learn through converse situations as opposed to having their questions responded to directly. It's all about perception.. but mostly, it's about humans with too much time on their hands.

Ah yes but how do you know it's the wrong answer? Any question can be viewed as subjective, therefore there are no incorrect answers. I love the variety of replies to any one question, just demonstrates the range of different mind sets out there - which is the great thing about Yahoo Answers. As to the people who are rude or plain ignorant - well in their world they probably think they're justified or being witty, to the rest of us they are idiots to be ignored.

Personally I get no joy from giving wrong answers, I make a point only to answer questions I feel I can honestly answer. I think some people simply enjoy the misfortune of others, probably because on some sad, sadistic level it makes them feel superior. In my opinion it's backwards though, if they are asking honest questions and trying to improve themselves and expand their own knowledge, then misinforming them tends to make them a better person for the fact that they are at least trying to grow as a human being.

Because it's fun to act like a jack*ss, and on the internet, you can do it anonymously. So it's fun without any consequences... But I don't think it's specific to yahoo! answers.
