We are graphic designers, she is a scorpio. The smallest things seem to set her off. For instance, today we are rearranging the desks in our office. She couldn't come up with a floor plan and was non-receptive to every other one my other co-worker and I came up with. She instead grumbled and slammed stuff around for a while. Why is she like this?

Also, is it best to just tip-toe around her? Or is there something I can do to alleviate the problem?

A few more details about her personality would help, however, it sounds to me like she is one of those types of people that have virtually no self-esteem. Now, seriously consider this: Does she always grumble when people make suggestions? Does she always have to get the last word in when someone comments? Does she always tell you how GREAT she is at her job? If so, it's an internal issue and she is simply not mature enough to cope with her confidence levels. She is likely acting out because SHE couldn't come up with a floor plan she liked...and maybe yours were really good...so she would rather grumble than accept that someone had a better idea than she did. She sounds like a child and the best way to handle a child is to ignore them or offer sarcastic comments quick and easy.

If she's your superior then maybe it's a good idea to stay out of her way, but if she's not than I personally would not put up with being uncomfortable on the job. I would probably try to talk to her adult like and see if you get anywhere, if not, you're better than that anyway, don't let sour people like that get to you, unless it becomes a daily thing, then maybe address it to authority. Good Luck!!

Slip valium into her coffee. Gradually increase the dosage every day until she's not so gruff. Comatose sounds like the best level for her.

"salty"?

Do not tip toe around her. If she's that unhappy she needs to find another job or transfer out. Ignore her when she acts this way, let her know she's not getting to you.

Tell her to stop acting like a child. You all work together so you better find a way to all get along together. Maybe just ask her what her problem is.

Sounds like she just a plain ole bit*h, nothing you can do about that except be one back and force the move with the others.

Perhaps she has personal issues and cant really hide it, so it seems as if she's lashing out at you. give her some space, dont start arguments with her, because maybe she doesnt mean to be ''salty".
