Would getting a factory refurbished ipod just as good as getting a new one? What's the difference?

Someone bought that ipod,, used it,,it went bad in the warranty period, they replaced it with a new one, after that, it was returned to the manufacturer and repaired,, found to be in good enough condition to be sold as a refurb. I don't have a problem with them, but I'd say the probability they actually found the problem is about 90%on a good day, 70% on a bad one. You'd have about a 10%- 30% chance of it going bad on you,, then what. Get a new one.
I used to do factory repairs on electronics, we called them "B" stocks.

In some cases a refurbished product is actually better. What happens is that the product is returned to the store/manufacturer for whatever reason. The product goes through testing and repair (if needed). Sometimes that process is more rigorous than the original quality control when it is first manufactured. When you buy a refurbished product you should get the full manufacturer's warranty as though the product were new. That way, should something be wrong with it, you would be able to return it like any product.

I wouldn't buy a refurbished iPod. Brand new iPods have enough problems as they are! The only condition I'd recommend buying refurbished is if the price is drastically less (usually it isn't) and it has a 100% guarantee and factory warranty. Otherwise you're better off buying a new product.

I wouldn't get one refurbished.

Chances are the iPod won't work.
