I work as an editor at a publishing company. I enjoy it and I get to be creative. I've even been informally titled the "Graphics Expert." I really enjoy working with Photoshop, and I know my way around QuarkExpress.
I don't know much about Illustrator and web design, which would be helpful at this job.
I've always loved art. Being an artist was the first thing I ever wanted to be when I was little, and I've always been pretty good at drawing.

If you have always been inclined towards art and already have developed your drawing skills I'd say go ahead! A good Graphic Design course should be more orientated towards teaching you first the basics: color theory, composition and typography rather than limiting to the technical use of Quark Xpress, Illustrator or Web Design. Your experience as an editor will be a great asset

Absolutely I did! I loved every minute of it. You are challenged to bring out the best because everyone around you is your competition. But if you are used to being the one people know as the "best artist" be prepared to occasionally eat humble pie....

Sounds like you'd be crazy not to. It would be useful to you and you love what you do. I'd say go for it!
