Secret Agent? You mean like a spy? There are many ramifications to be considered in this answer. I travel quite a bit.

First, only if I have known the person for a while. Secondly, it must seek to attain ends which are compatible with my own and the overall good of the USA. Thirdly, the potential for survival, injury and legal considerations must be a factor in any such choice. If the operative or his assistant even make it to the court system, countries have severe penalties for espionage and sabotage. I have declined many opportunities both for ideology and money, not to mention potential danger to myself. If a mission is discovered, the helper will probably be the fall-guy.

Many people claim to be operatives of US gov't, but are not.

It would be good advice for noone to assist someone claiming to be a secret agent, because noone really uses that term, and generally would cause them more harm than good.

If I was getting paid a hefty sum, hell yeah! (As long as I wasn't compromising any morals or values, of course.)
