the smartest thing i know that can help is that- advice your friend & a help support asistance from yours & to a counselor will be a great help
to your friend. The Do-it-Now theory is a must.
There are programs developed to help smokers overcome tobacco dependence. By this programs, there are support group who are really trying their very best & willing to help their clients to overcome smoking addiction. Other way is, through medicinal intervention such as NRT-nicotine replacement therapy. Their NRT products: such as gum, helps one individual control of their cigarette cravings. It's an aid that reduces symptoms after quitting smoking.

Smoking is automatic for those who have nothing else to do in their spare time.

Get the book, "Geometry the Easy Way", by Barrons.

She could work on problems or learn new theorems in the 5 to 15 minutes she would otherwise use to smoke.

If she is not a math person already it can change her life in two ways.

actually, whether to smoke or not to smoke is up to her as u cannot sit by her 24/7 to prevent her from smoking...anyway, you can try and advice her that smoking will cause liver cancer and ask her to replace her sticks with chewing gums instead...=)

Yeah tell her stop it ...
Tell he you can smoke a cig next year
Never ask her to stop it completely and that can be painful for a smoker
Just quit it for a year and keep postponing . it works

offer to take her to a hypnotist. Laser therapy also works I have heard. Just depends on if she is READY to quit. Nothing will work unless she is ready and willing to quit.

if she isn't ready, there is nothing you can do to help. But you might not want to take up smoking yourself.

you can't make anyone stop doing anything she has to want to do it for herself and when she is ready she will quit on her own.
