I have used up my quota of questions but it has been interesting to learn how many people in the world think that causing pain to a child is in any way caring, or loving and that, "what you sow, the rest of us may reap". and 780 characters to say more, I have said where I stand and so have other people and I have never, ever done anything but keep people in my care safe and if that meant just holding onto them and making them feel there were arms that would always catch them, hold them, until their 'storm' had passed and keep them safe, I must have exlplained myself badly on other threads because when I posted about 'wrapping up' someone they were punching out windows and there was glass all over and they were a lot bigger than me but I just held on to to them, stopped them from getting hurt or hurting anyone else. I wrapped them with my own body and still have the scars - the scratching and biting. If you never been there the you have not got the t-shirt hurting another is wrong.

First, find support and education for yourself. The stronger and more educated you are ,the more service you can provide. By "being of service", I mean comforting, loving ,providing a safe space, professional help and giving hope. I speak from experience.Facilitating productive change in another is draining.I pray you both find peace .

if someone you love and care for is totally out of control, then you should seek professional help. however, some professionals dont know their elbow to their knees, so make sure you know they know what they are talking about and make them train you. then you have their knowledge that you can interpret into how you see is best fit to do so. you sound like a caring person, i wish someone would have been there for me when i was otta control. NEVER GIVE UP ON SOMEONE that is the worst thing you can do. the feeling of rejeciton is a main reason as to why young people go off the rails and get outa control, so to make someone feel like they are worth something and have a place in this world is a pretty good start. gudluck.

Been there...I've had to call 911 and even though it was the scariest thing ever, I had to do it and have faith that the right thing would happen, and it did. But I had to get education about the situation and not give up....it paid off in the long run. It has been the hardest thing to date that I have ever had to do, and I feel for you because I know how it is. Get some professional help with it and dont give up.

Depends what you mean: get help anyway. Medical, social services, auxiliary etc. There is help available and you ought not to cope on your own.
