What year honda civic? In the older models the fuel filter is a black cylindrical object with fuel lines going in the top and bottom of it behind the engine. It's normally bolted against the firewall of the engine bay.

Depending on the year of the car you can buy Chilton's repair guide at autozone or napa or something like that.

For most foreign cars, the filter is in the engine compartment, somewhere on the right hand side.

I pretty sure that honda puts the filters in the gas tank.

under the hood. It looks like an air conditioner component. I have an 89 and if you pop the hood and look at the engine it is on the left passenger side. It is about the size of a cup with two nuts you can loosen.

What year? If newer, it's in the gas tank itself.
