I have a Boxer who is always happy, loves to run and play, is always happy to see me, and just has mannerisms that make me laugh. She is a source of unconditional love and constant entertainment . She actually makes me happier and better than I might otherwise be, because I'll be damned If I'm gonna let a dog be a better person than I am!!

Defiantly. Animals are great. They offer you love and stress relief.

I think 90% of the time, owning a pet is a positive experience. Although, I've worked as a vet tech for a while and have seen and heard some nightmare stories about evil pets LOL I'm really glad you are bonding so well with your Boxer. Boxers are a lot of fun!
*edit* personally, all of my pets have been rescues and only 1 situation was bad.

Pet can have a wonderful influence for people.
Doctors will actually prescribe companion animals for mental or emotional disorders. *
My dogs do therapy work and during our visits you can see how happy we make the people feel when we come to visit. Some people only talk when I come to see them. Yes they tell me the same story..about their pet they used to have a child or adult.. but you can see the sunshine in their faces. Its truely amazining.
I agree with you pets can have a very positive influence on our lives.

without a dought, yes! i have 3 horses,2 mini goats,2 parrots, 5 chickens and 3 dogs(it will be 4 in 2 more weeks) and life just wouldn't be the same without them in it.

Mystics beleive that dogs have at least ten qualities which if man tries to evolve in his Self
the nirvana is just around the corner.
one such quality that i am learning to practice is that to be happy when i get something and be patient when i dont get it.

My cats know when I'm unhappy. I've been considering a dog, but am not willing to commit yet :-)

my dog killed my friend and i had to put it down. also black cats give me bad luck. soooo pets are bad influence in my life! i hate them!!!!!!!!!!
