After watching last nights special, I was in aww when I saw how afraid the Chapmans were to to go back to Mexico. I can understand that it would be hard to survive in any prison. But is the Mexican judicial system so corrupt and non co-operative with an American who is accused of a crime? I know that a Mexican who comes to America, legally or illegally, will be treated with justice until proven guilty.

Dog just needs to bribe the local POLICIA". Dog doesn't seem to be the type to do that...believe me, if you flash a few bucks, you get off right away. Ask the sargeants that bail out soldiers from Camp Pendleton weekly in Tijuana!

I didn't watch the program. I've been to Mexico as well as a few other counties down thru central and south America, I didn't have many problems with the law.

As to judicial systems; they are all corrupt to one degree or another. Even in the US.

As to your knowing that a Mexican who comes to America, legally or illegally, being treated with justice until proven guilty; we make mistakes too. Look at the Canadian, Arar.

What Beth said on tv last night was true. All Mexico is doing is plaing the message that if you want to get away with a crime. Come to Mexico. We arrest your captors, so you can be free to rape again.
America should take care of Dog, he only helped the government when everyone else was too chicken sh it to go and arrest the f**king the rapist who fled.
Some government we got huh?
My heart and prayers go out to Duane and his ENTIRE family.
Blessed be Chapmans.

Parts of Mexico have always been like that... You have to remember, if you are there and get accused of something or are jailed, you have to play by their rules (which can change on a whim), it's not the United States and being a United States citizen means absolutely nothing there... forget having any sort of rights... you may have a shot at getting home if you are worth some large amount of extortion...

Mexico is one the last places on earth I would like to visit but nothing changes the fact that if you travel to another country, be ready for anything and adhere to their laws, Chapman didn't. When I was a child I watched the movie "Midnight Express", it scared the heck out of me and I was marked for life. And when travelers or else come here, they also have to stick to our laws and not theirs.

I keep hearing that we are overreacting, there is never an overreaction to injustice. You may not care because he is a television star but he is a real person. The only thing good about his fame is that his plight is gathering media attention, if he is save maybe it will prevent it from happening to me.

No, I would not go there.

Maybe it is time to really seal the border and begin a boycott of Mexico.
