Forceful implemintaion of "democracy" goes against it's very precepts. America is now known for torturing innocents around the world in no-longer secret CIA prison camps.
Which not-all-that long ago, Bush denied existed, was that a LIE to the people?
A democracy?
Would you accept anything forced upon you?
Iraq will go down in history as America's greatest mistake- Iraq should've only been like a side-show to Afghanistan- that's where never should've taken our eye off the ball...

Democrats and Republicans both need to understand that our idea of freedom is not necessarily the same as someone elses. You cannot force a change on someone else. They must want for themselves.

Actually, W, Republicans believe that freedom can be forced on other people at the point of a gun. It applies to our mission in Iraq, which according to one version from our Republican leaders, was to bring freedom and democracy to the Iraqi people. How did we do this? By bombing, ground invasion and occupation of many years. And, they love us for it, and have such a stable happy society now! Look at their blue fingers! (and 100 dead bodies per day).
It is the Republicans who believe they can "liberate" countries by force. This is still an essential component of neoconservative dogma -- they are STILL talking about liberating Iran and Syria.

No, freedom can no be forces, just as much as you can fight a war for peace. its got logical issues.
Now, you are raised in a culture where you are premitted to do as you wish for the most part. they are raised in a culture that does not give them that option they are raised not knowing what out freedom is like, basically they fear it and think it is evil.
after all what is evil, other then culturly differnt and no understood.

Your confusing Democrats with Republicans. And we live in a Republic here in America and the Republicans have restricted our freedoms ALOT lately, with spying on us with illegal (a judge ruled it so) wiretapping (which the republican pres. ordered to go on anyways!), to the Patriot Act which has MANY freedom busting things in it. You think were trying to give freedom in Iraq, when the republicans have TAKEN IT FROM US.
The Neo-cons don't want to "LIBERATE" Iraq, they want Iraq's OIL AND TO CHRISTIANIZE IT. That's it. Make a puppet government from which to put in bases and airports, pump oil and money from religious and secular causes and its not working.

I think you are confused because if you just take someone out in the big middle of no where and drop them off and forget about them they are now free. A dictator has freedom but the people he rules over does not. So if you was to kill the dictator the people/sheep would then be free till the next dictator takes over.
