2) Write them down

All would be viable steps to back up your stuff.

Export your contact list, then save to a file. This file can then be imported if you need it. Display your contact list and there will be a Export/Import function near the top.

If you setup the sync option (under calender)
you'll be able to sync with Outlook on your PC
