my lil sis is 12 and after me becoming a part time model she decided she would like to try to be a model too and before all this about milan models and that she didn't no the models were that skinny! and is worried that she willl have to get that skinny she is not fat and not skinny just thin...............will she have to get skinnier?

if she goes to Spain she will be fine, they don't want anorexic models sinc ethey don't have boobs or asses to hold on to.
She should be in a happy shapy, healthy and if an agency takes her then let her be.
If she wants to be fat then there r fat model catalogues as well

Being only 12 years old, I don't think weight is a big issue yet. When she gets older, it may come up, but hopefully she'll know that being healthy is more important and she can do both in that industry. Look at Tyra Banks. She's a very successful model, beautiful and still haves curves and doesn't look sickly.

Im a film maker and i am involved in a lo of casting for models.
Sometimes we typecast, and teh type you need at tehtime may just be a nice healthy loking full figured person.. skinny could get you sick, becuase youre forcing your body into what it doesnt want to be.. stay the size she is, theres plenty of models out ther doing films, tv commercials and even runways

No but it is a commitment . She should think about her statement of that skinny. Start locally at Mall fashion shows .Find an agent in your home town. They will let her know the criteria. There are plus size models also.

That depends on her over-all look. Thin is not bad. It's going to hinge on whether the modeling agency or photographer wants her 'look' or not. She shouldn't take it personally though because it all boils down to individual preferences. I, personally, don't care for models that are so thin you can see light shining through them. lol

no she doesnt have to be skinnier...
she is only a child do not make her into an anorexic at such a young age! that is horrible. you are supposed to be her older sister take some responsiblity and take care of her! dont turn her into a sick anorexic.
and you dont hae to be skinny to be a model. a model can be any shape or size. go to a modelling agency first and see what spot they can get her and then see what you can do to improve her body. but not as in losing weight... why dont the two of you work out together to get in shape...not skinnier

You do not have to be skinny....there are all kinds of models...it just depends on what type of modeling she wants to do. I dont think anyone should ever endanger their health for modeling.

hopefully not there tryin to ban skinny models from the catwalk not all models are freakishly skinny there are a good few that look quite healthy
