If you assume the American people wanted to increase governmental spending to record levels, centralize power in the presidency at the expense of their civil liberties, enrich the wealthiest 1% at the expense of the middle class economic base, and engage in an illegal war costing us 300 billion, or 10k per Iraqi and 1k per US citizien, then yes the dems have lost touch. You are only hurting yourself and the rest of your country by blindly supporting Bush and his government. Dig Deeper.

They didn't, the problem is that the majority of people have democratic views but they don't vote. Do you really think most American are as uptight as the Republicans. Look at our society as whole. We are very liberal which is why Republicans are trying to take away as much rights from us as they can. Think about it.

The Democrats tend to have a very good handle on the feelings of Americans.... they just have the same hard time that all intelligent lifeforms do when trying to understand rednecks and idiots.... republican politics biggest backers.

how is it that we have lost touch with america? are you suggesting that the values of america are based upon greed, oil companies, killing our men and women so that our administration can get richer, and our main leader being an idiot who can't pronounce words correctly? if that is america, then yes. i suppose we have lost touch with that.

I believe they are not keeping up with mainstream America. Also the left wing has a very tight stranglehold grip on the democrat party since they realized that the "communist Party" was never going to take hold under that name. Stealing the DNC has been very beneficial for them.
