I mean people who push pass you to get to the front of the queue.
I had a big row with a woman in Tescos today (although it was technically the counter assistants fault for not motioning her to the back of the queue), and eventually told her "you are a rude f-ing cow then", after ascertaining that she did understand the concept of a queue.
I have given up smoking today so I am a little uptight.
Was I right to have a go?
Would you do the same?

Your basic instinct was right, but by swearing at her , I have to say you kind of came down to her level.

Icy coldness, speaking quietly but plainly is the best way to go. It usually stops them in their tracks for a moment while they try to figure out what you actually said!

How dare anyone think that their time is more important than anyone else's. They deserve to be made to wait and wait.

And I would have been cranky as hell had it been my first day without a ciggie as well.

You want cranky, offend my daughter when she is hungry. She would have made the woman melt under her scorn!!!

well frankly i don't have the enough guts to tell someone to go back to the end of the queue. i am not very good at confrontation and getting angry and arguing with people even though i feel bad about it.

it has happened to me a few times before but frankly these people have no manners. besides, they are going to get served anyway and so there is no need for them to do what they did. because it is well out of order and so rude. i think in order for this stop we need get shop assistants and bag packers to monitor the queue just to make sure that nobody tries to jump in. this may backfire of course, but queue jumpers have absolutely no common sense whatsoever and its a problem that needs addressing.

by the way congratulations for giving up the fags and good on you as well!

Too true I would have done the same, I hate queue jumpers myself, none of us are stood there for the good of our health are we, I won't put up with excuses like, well I only have a few bits or I'm going to be late for work or an appointment either, tuff they should have got their earlier and stood in a queue like the rest of us have to, now don't go having a ciggy will you, I am without cigs for nearly a week now and yes it is hard but don't let people like her get to you, go for a little walk or wash up, anything to take you mind off it OK, good luck.

I have never said anything directly to a queue jumper. I am proud of you to have the guts to say something to a jerk like that.

Queue jumpers do infuriate me as well. I usually give a nasty look and make sure I say something to the effect of how f*in' rude they are with another person in the queue or with the people I am with.

All you done was...let go of your emotions, which most of us do at times. Given up smoking isn't the cause, but hey! dint help neither...Try Asda next week, you may at least be in a queue with considerate people who understand English and french.Quit the swearing as you've lost the argument before you start..Best of luck and get yourself a nicotine patch..

They annoy me immensely and I condone your behaviour in teaching that rude woman some manners. I hope she got sent to the back of the queue. What are the rest of the queue waiters then? Invisible? Complelety unimportant?

Anyway good for you for giving up smoking - stick at it.

Yeah stuff like that pisses me off, yet saying that the food market the place i'm at, in the event that they open a until ultimately they ask the subsequent shopper interior the line back over and we could all people else stick to. I had a similar undertaking with a women folk on the submit place of work. saying she purely needed to purchase a stamp so the ladies folk in front of me enable her bypass forward. This women folk have been given to the counter and then pulled out immigration varieties, driving licence varieties, passport varieties. Ridiculous. I went up tot he counter and instructed her to step as aside.

I would rather die a slow painful death including the death off all those around me than even look at the skin of a queue jumper

Yes, you were right to have a go. Some people don't understand 'friendly persuasion'. And what about the dozy cows who always stop to have a chat at the main entrances, blocking the exits?
