The octavia is a femonenal car. Handles better then the bora (jetta) because of the longer tail end. The diesel engines rock, and are very frugal.

They have a bad name from the times of the favorit model and the 120L. These where eastern european cars under communist rule. Cheap and unreliable.

However, like the wine in these eastern european countries, Skoda made good cars before communist rule.

Now under VW group, they are equipped to make cars that consistently take awards as best cars of the year, and feature in the top 5 of the JD Power survey and the likes. I am sure Skoda is not buying JD Power and the magazines so that they rate them high. VW would do that with their more presigious marks.

I never new what a difference the new Skoda cars are from their old brethren, until I decided to take a test drive.

Boy was I convinced!!

Very good cars. Bought a 98 R reg 1.9 D Gli Felicia 2 months ago. No problems yet. 1.9 D VW Polo engine. Love the shape of it. Couldnt care less with the jokes about Skoda. Its a brilliant car/Make now that it it owned by VW. Skoda any day over Ford, BMW. Merc etc...

v good cars, basically its a audi/vw underneath as audi own skoda. so built quality is top notch. skoda's have even done well in rallying but the badge has carried this reputation and is unable to shake the tag off

Well not being a driver of any motor car, I thought Skodas only came out at the weekend to annoy other road users!

Perhaps no one needs to as they are very good cars. granted they were slow and basic and fairly rare on our roads before VW took hold and re invented them. Sadly the jokes probably will never stop in our life time. But they can wipe a few smirks off now, there is no denying that the Octavia RS is one heck of a car. I need one in My life.

Ive had an octavia 1.6 fsi for 6 months and its excellent.

It may be a VW/Audi for tight arses but that suits me fine. I prefer a good car with a crap badge than vice versa

There are'nt any questions from Skoda owners because very few

i dont know how it works for you people but i have experienced horrible after sales with the skoda co in india... feel like the top of the lines arent worth anything once they go to the service centre... rapairing and replacing parts is like a mission... and very very expensive too.. im dissapointed with the co.

They are very good cars, all vw or audi parts under the bonnet, very reliable and very good to drive. also very affordable.

not as flashy as most cars but don't have the price tag of other cars.

All in all good value for money

they rock! my dad has one, so you can trust me on this. they are the cheapest marque under the Volkswagen group. despite this, they are very reliable, if not better than when they were solo. and their innovation is quite impressive. and the body, it looks better than mercs and its dam strong(it got 4 stars at NCAP.).but the engines aren't too good and the servicing can only be done by the the dealer.
