Not at all. The human brain is hard-wired for face recognition (which in prehistoric times had tremendeous survival value), and this carries over to seeing "faces" in all sorts of things -- clouds, trees, even grilled cheese sandwiches... In fact, just about anything with two fairly evenly spaced openings can offer us "eyes," and from there it's an easy step to perceiving a face.

Really weird. Even weirder is that people are buying things to stick on their trees to make it look like the trees have faces. The weirdest thing I heard of about a tree, though, was that a guy cut a limb off his tree and the face of Jesus showed up where he cut the limb off!
Oh, Hispanophile is right about the brain being hardwired for face recognition, though-- I learned about that in psychology.

That is a very unusual formation but as a wildlife artist/photographer I have taken many pics of trees that have formed faces of many sorts but must admit that is the most unusual one I've seen yet.
