My religion is this, I am a Roman Catholic, but I have chosen to stray to a different belief that God is everywhere and everything and that I don’t need to go to church to pray to Him, or read a book, the bible, to acknowledge Him. I am and can honestly say that I am a good person, I help ppl who need my help, I give to ppl who need me to give them something, I practice all the religious holidays, I pray regularly. That is what my religion is.

They blew up the world trade centre, they sacrifice themselves to kill others in the name of a so called god (yes i know god has a capital G but i don't believe in the muslims god.)
All muslims aren't terroists, But all terroists seem to be muslims.. Hmmm

First a Question to you before answering: Can you explain your religion in a few brief statement?
I think it'll be hard for you too.
Any way, as far as I know, Muslims believe in one god (Allah, that's what they call their god), The god is not male, nor female, in fact not any person. The idea is abstract.
Mohammed is the last messenger of Islam.
Quran (Koraan) is the holy book for muslims.
Muslims do believe the exixtance of Bible and Jesus.
And what else they believe that Quran is the latest version from Allah(after the bible) and Mohammed is the last messenger. (The latest and revised edition of Holy book, Wow, That makes them so proud, i guess!!)
And ofcourse they do believe the idea that Jesus will come back.
They pray 5 times (each not more than 10 minutes), fast for a month in a year (they don't eat or drink from sunrise to sunset), thay have two major festivals in a year --- and that's all the rituals.Other things remain the same for muslims and the rest of the mankind.
I hope you got some basic idea (without any bias) about islam and muslim. And don't think too much about pope or whatever. Cause most of the world (Muslims or Christians) shouldn't careabout what they say (pope, Osama, Bush Bla Bla Bla)

Islam is a monotheistic religion based upon the Qur'an, which adherents believe was sent by God through Muhammad. Followers of Islam, known as Muslims believe Muhammad to have been God's final prophet; most of them see the historic record of the actions and teachings of the Prophet Muhammad related in the Sunnah and Hadith as indispensable tools for interpreting the Qur'an.
I hope political manipulation and religious fantastic won't turn you into a hater.
Peace:)

they think their religion is the best just as you think your religion is. i think everyone, no matter what belief, custom, or religion, is bound to think their religion is right and any other is wrong. thats just how religion works. o and islam doesnt mean peace, salem does. and no, the koran was not any LATER version of the Bible, in fact, it was written much longer before the Bible. muhammed* was not the last messenger of islam, moreover, he was the founder. he had "visions" in which he heard a voice of angel gabriel who was calling him to be the apostle of the one true deity, allah the arabic word for god. Muhammed then preached to the people of Mecca that there was only one god who people must worship and obey, and the religion spread thereafter.

5 pillars:
1) Testify with your heart that there is no GOD but GOD and muhammad(pbuh) is his messenger(to believe in all the scriptures, prophets, angels, day of resurrection, messengers, and so forth to faith)
2) To perform fasting
3) To pray 5 times a day
4) To give charity
5) To make a pilgrimage to mecca at least once in your life
The thought of any religion being the best always pertains to the ones involved. Not just muslims. Christians too believe thier religion is the best. Jews think the same and so on. It's just human nature. Like to think you can make the best homemade brownies. To the conclusion that people always thinks they are better than the next. It's just human nature. PEACE!

Among Muslims there are those who:
a) jihad in the path of Allah with their wealth and their lives (including those who sit at home but give asylum to mujahidin 4:74) = true Muslim
b) those who sit at home (and do not give asylum to mujahidin or jihad in the path of Allah)
c) the handicapped (does not count as a category)
According to the Qur'an who is a true believer?
2:244, 3:140, 4:95, 8:74, 49:15, 9:20, 9:86,
Killing (qitl) and jihad in the cause of Allah is the hallmark of true Muslim believers. It is not a matter of moderate or fanatic. It is the distinction of a true believer or a rebel.
4:76,
Does this include atomic weapons?
8:60, 2:216, 4:74
Here is what Robbie Burns wrote and I think it can also be applied to jihaddists of today although it was written for Christians:
"On Thanksgiving For A National Victory"
Ye hypocrites are these your pranks
to murder men and give God thanks?
Desist, for shame proceed no further
God does ne want your thanks for murder.
Islam is insidious, it encroaches on a culture slowly and deliberately. Here is a document which discusses the progression of Islam in great detail (50+ pages) -- "From dawa to jihad - the various threats from radical Islam to the democratic legal order":

Islam literary means peace. It teaches that human existence is solely for worshiping the one God. You can summarise its teachings in the verse that says ' You should live your life as if this day was your last on earth and as if it was your first too'. It teaches humility, kindness, love, understanding and sharing. However it also teaches retaliation in an equal measure as opposed to the Christian doctrine of turn the other chic. Another of its basic tenets is destiny, which makes most moslems accept conditions.
Another of its fundamental teachings is Jihad, which has several interpretations including the defence and strenghtening of personal, group and communal faith.

The dynamics of this movement between beliefs predates us so it would not suffice to contain a succinct explanation in "brief statements".
For someone who feels strongly about today's events, please refer to the material contained at ___ the link I've attached.
It is a sign of wisdom on your part to want to know and "get to the bottom of things."

Honestly I'm terrified of them. We can't fight someone who is willing to kill themselves in order to kill us. They keep coming here in droves and because of our free speech and say and do practically whatever they want.
Watch people!!!!! Watch what is happening. They are not peaceful or loving, they are mislead and don't care what price they pay for their God. They will really become "the enemy". Just watch!!
