I am a mom, 48 years old, with 4 kids who are 27, 25, 21, and 9. If you were my daughter, I would want you to come to me and tell me what you are going through. However, because I have had kids your age before, I know that sometimes talking to your parents isn't always comfortable. Because you are 18, you can go to the doctor without your parents even if it is their insurance. However, if you do it that way, they will get the bill and/or the statement for the insurance payment, so they will know that you went to the doctor. I might suggest that you speak with your parents and just tell them that now that you are 18 you would like to go in for a yearly physical exam. It is recommended that sexually active women begin having yearly pap tests done at 18 anyway, so it would be a good idea for you. If you feel that your mom will want to go with you, you may want to call a crisis pregnancy center, located under abortion alternatives in the yellow pages. They will be able to help you and most have either free pregnancy tests or tests done on a sliding scale of ability to pay. It is not uncommon for a woman of your age to have irregular periods. Stress and worry can affect the onset of menstruation. Regardless of the protection you use, there is always a chance for pregnancy anytime you have sex. Abstinence is the only 100% effective birth control method.

You can only stay on your parents health insurance if you are a full time student. You can go to a free clinic and not have to have parent consent. Ask Planned Parenthood, or call the public health service in your area. There are plenty of reasons for missing a period, unusual dieting, over excersing, unusual stress to your bdy systems at school, etc. EPTs are pretty accurate if directions are followed.

yes you can go w/o them but you need to pay the bill and make sure you intercept the bill so they wont get it. You need a insurance card though. Almost all pregnancy tests are accurate, especially if you have taken several. It may be another problem. Are you eating like you should? You may need to go to the doc for something else that is keeping you from having your period

For things like this you can go to your doctor without your parents knowledge. The government requires that they provide you with free testing.

A better bet, you can actually go to planned parenthood and get the same test for free no questions asked.

Do you have any planned parenthood clinics around you? Being that you're 18 your parents dont need to be in the room with you or be notified of what you're being seen for so maybe you can just go to your normal doc for a "check up"

Yes, you are an adult and you do not need anyone in the room with you. Were they there when you conceived? if you go and do not present the insurance information, of which they should already have on file, or may verify with your insurance company you will be charged with the services.

Yes, you can go without them. The HIPPA laws say that you are 18 and you are entitled to pivacy. Your parents will get the bills but not know why you went. You do not have to tell them (of course they could torture you) and the doctor by law, can't tell them without your permission.
