Do believe in trade-offs?

compare bad with good

define "karma points"

what I mean by tradeoffs more particularly is "karma trading".... like if I OWE John something, but john owes harry, can I just "pay" harry? well it may depend on all teh parties involved and as to whether or not such terms of TRADE are acceptable

I did not mean to make it into a "payment thing" I was using such wording to explain... I did not have a better word choice... ASK JAMES has a good reply, he made it all scientific like and well that is kind of how it is if you believe in SCIENCE as the main influence of any belief channel, which I think it is.

To the degree of "paying back" well I do believe you can pay back for wrongs you did to some extent... I even look at it this way ~ say I steal your bicycle in this life and I make an effort to pay you back or actually pay you back well then I am heading more to a "repair" of the bad karma(ie>damage) .... However if I do not pay you back or make a REAL effort well then it will come to me in/on the "SOUL TYPE LEVEL"... if I try to constantly avoid my responsibility of PAYING YOU back in the soul level, well it will come to me again in any future physical life I may be in...
I used the phrase "make effort" because well sometimes you can not find teh guy you stole from....

as far as murder of rape or what have you those things are as they are... I hope my fellow man can RISE to teh occasion with me and realize what we must do as far as the PAYBACKS for other creatures WE abused.

Karma is a law.

The simple version is the law of cause and effect: 'for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.'

The simple version of the law of karma can also be quite complex yet it is easier to understand than the more complicated version because it deals with more localized events.

The more complicated version of the law of karma is what science states as the law of conservation of energy: 'energy can never be created or destroyed - only transformed.'

The complicated version is very challenging to understand because its scale includes the entire universe.

The element that is common to both the simple as the law of 'cause and effect' and the complicated as the law of 'conservation of energy' is BALANCE (it is not a matter of trade-offs - the nature of the law of karma is that it always balances).

Bad karma is anything that increases suffering.
Good karma is anything that reduces suffering.

'Karma Points' is a measurement of karma. It is not very accurate because it is a subjective interpretation of a law that transcends opinion.

May You Be Richly Blessed,
James

Karma is the law of cause and effect. The word Karma means action, and it's used as Short hand for the idea that every action you take causes a reaction in the future. Positive, caring actions will bring positive results back to you, whereas negative, hurtful actions will result in suffering.

well, usually I think of karma as involved in the process of past and next life - - which I don't necessarily believe, however, I do believe that you get "good" or "bad" back in this lifetime.. here is my logic - - if you do good things, you walk around feeling good and positive and people are drawn to this in you - you will radiate how good you feel and people will be attracted to it - and conversely for the bad..
So, do the good and it will come back to you - even if it is just that you feel like you did a good thing..

As to points - I doubt it - quite a western concept for sure to try and score it like a sporting event..

Inborn and developed patterns belong to individual or to formations as a family, friends, groups, societies,or global humanity, manifesting as repetition of good/bad, right/wrong apparitions. Reflection of internal repetitive conditions belongs to listed above.Changing patterns changes apparitions. Eliminating usual existing patterns setting karmic movement in neutral position, although anything we do out of internal conditions initiate appropriate reflections.

In spiritual parlance the word "Karma" mean the cause of our destiny, or simply action or work including our burden of our daily activities. I believe in karma. Examples of karma, if one may give in charity, perform austerities or sacrifices with the motive of acquiring fame. It is certainly bad. If any action is for good cause without expecting return is good. Karma is performed by the mind in thought, by toungue in speech or by the body in action.

a good deed should not be done just for "karma points" the most one should ever count on in return is feeling good about them self. A modest approach will have more rewards then self righteousness

Cosmic and spiritual balance. Do I believe in it? Not exactly, I think generally we make our own fortune and karma is more a manifestation of our guilt leading to us messing up.

Ironically I used to belong to a gym called Karma. They ripped me off for several months. Hopefully they will get what they deserve!

The concept of karma is similar to the judeo/christian concept "you shall reap what you sow"

I can't define karma points

you can't pay for something bad you do with something good, the bad thing will reap bad things and the good things will reap good.

they are seperate
