I go directly through the airline website. Once I purchase my ticket, I continue to watch that particular website for the prices on the same flight. Then if the price goes down, I then got to the site and "change my flight". I don't get a refund, but the difference is "kept for future use". Now the next time I take a trip I will already have some of it paid for!

By looking for deals or siging up for emails from different airlines to see what there specials are.

I just got two round trip tickets to Florida for a total of $300 (that is around $69 one way) by booking more than 14 days in advance from my trip.

Try to book your flight more than 2 weeks ahead. The further back you go the more cheap the filghts. Good sites to visit are cheaptickets.com and travelocity.com . Sometimes you can even get package deals with hotels and rental cars.

Packages are your best bet - however, if you have time - surf some of the airlines themselves and you may be surprised at hte prices

Sign up for newsletters or rewards programs from airlines and they will email you when they have cheap fares.
